John Dee was appointed operations and hospitality manager in May 2018. As the point of contact for logistics, accommodation, catering, and planning for programs and events at the Kylemore Abbey Global Centre, he works closely with the hospitality team to ensure a warm welcome for all. John is responsible for Centre operations, maintenance, health and safety and can sometimes be found leading groups on hikes in the beautiful landscape around the Kylemore estate.
With a long history in hospitality in various areas of hotel and event management, John joined Notre Dame from the National University of Ireland, Galway where he was catering operations manager. He holds diplomas in science, Italian, and international finance from universities in Ireland and the UK and holds certifications in food hygiene and wine tasting.
Hailing from Kerry, John has been based in Galway for the past five years. In his free time he enjoys both playing and watching soccer.
